Descriptive Review
A beautiful story about the nightly routine between a mother and daughter, Bedtime in Nunatsiavut uses a child’s dreamworld to capture the wonders of animals and places in the Nunatsiavut region of Newfoundland and Labrador. Written and illustrated by Nunatsiavut Inuit Raeann Brown, this book has colourful illustrations that depict a child’s curiosities, the magical touch of a kunik (Inuit kiss), and the transformative power of dreams as a way to understand the natural world. Perfect for K–3 students, this book includes an Afterword by the author as well as a Reading Guide for Parents with ideas, prompts, a glossary, and a map of the Nunatsiavut communities to extend and inspire further learning.
