Descriptive Review
Margriet Ruurs is the author of many award-winning children’s books, and in Come, Read With Me, she takes readers back in time to reminisce about fairy tales and favourite picture books. This story connects readers to the past, while bringing a new sense of literature to the forefront. The rhyming and alliteration throughout this whimsical story give a sense of calm and daze. The colourful illustrations allow readers to interpret the story in their own words as if going through a wordless picture book. Students will be inspired to use their imaginations to bring together pieces from different stories, and to explore all types of literature in their own reading and writing.
