Mary Simon’s life story and legacy are covered in this newest installment of the Amazing Women in Canada series. She is currently the governor general of Canada and is the first Inuk to be chosen for the position. This book was written with information provided by the governor general’s office, and the governor general’s office reviewed the draft version of the manuscript. Simon’s life, from childhood to current times, is detailed, as is her political career. The author also discusses the importance and future impact of choosing an Indigenous person to be in the role of governor general in terms of reconciliation.
