Environmentalists, social justice warriors, and media students will enjoy this collection of stories, a biography of the co-founder of Greenpeace, Bob Hunter. Each chapter is written by someone who knew him—family, friends, colleagues—and selected and edited by Bob’s wife, Bobbi. Brief chapters (3–5 pages) make this book easily accessible and engaging for a teen audience. Black-and-white photos at the book's centre depict Bob in action throughout his career. Bob’s initial career was in media as an author and a critic. He is most well-known in that arena for his dissection of mainstream media and its political biases. The epilogue is in Bob’s voice, in an interview with WE Jackson, musician and founder of Greenpeace San Francisco. Mr. Mindbomb, a term that Hunter created, is an accessible read for a biography project or a better understanding of the environmentalist movement in Canada that Bob Hunter inspired.

Bobbi Hunter was treasurer, co-founder, main fundraiser, office coordinator, strategist and constant facilitator for the Greenpeace Foundation from 1974 to 1978. She was married to Bob Hunter for 31 years and is the mother of his two children, Will and Emily Hunter, and stepmother to his daughter Justine and son Conan. Since Bob’s untimely death, she has worked tirelessly to keep his legacy alive. Bobbi lives in Toronto, Ontario.

Elizabeth May is the Green Party Member of Parliament for the southern Vancouver Island riding of Saanich-Gulf Islands and served as leader of the Green Party of Canada from 2006-2019. In the 2011 federal election, Elizabeth made history by being the first Green Party candidate to win a seat in the House of Commons and was re-elected in 2015 and 2019. By a vote of her peers, she was named Parliamentarian of the Year in 2012. In 2015, Newsweek magazine named her one of the world's most influential women. She has a long record as a committed and dedicated advocate – for social justice, the environment, human rights, and pragmatic economic solutions. She is the author of eight books, most recently Who We Are: Reflections on My Life and Canada. She has served on the boards of numerous organizations, including the International Institute for Sustainable Development; vice-chair of the National Round Table on Environment and Economy; executive director of the Sierra Club of Canada; and as a commissioner of the Earth Charter International Council. Elizabeth May lives in Sidney, British Columbia.
