Descriptive Review
An action-packed, quirky, science fiction read, Mr. Universe has something for everyone. Comedic from start to finish, Mr. Universe is a short but unique novel about teenager Michael, who accidentally ends up in another universe, and his attempts to try and save his love interest, Emily, from being erased from existence by terrifying, grey lizard people. The author’s voice and sense of humour are relatable and engaging. Quantum theory, a strange parallel world, and a dash of romance make this high-interest/low-vocabulary novel a great addition to any library. | Arthur Slade is the author of 25 novels for young readers. He is the recipient of the TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award and the Governor General’s Literary Award.
