Descriptive Review

The late Tom Hunter, wildlife artist and natural history illustrator, created books for children in which he shared factual information through activity pages. Known for his Canadian Wildlife Activity Book Series, this edition includes a broad range of Canadian animals from land, water, and sky, presented within a collection of word games, puzzles, mazes, drawing and colouring pages, simple crosswords, brain teasers, and basic number games and math problems.

Each page features an animal, a few facts about the animal, and instructions on how to complete the associated challenge or activity. Several of the activities are repeated, allowing for growth of competence in activity completion. Where applicable, answers are provided, printed upside down on the same page as the activity. This book lends itself to use by an individual or small group of students as a choice activity through a centres-approach to learning or as an extension activity for related curriculum.
